Proposed Station Heritage Centre - March 2013

PROPOSED STATION HERITAGE CENTRE (SHC)

One of The Albrighton & District Civic Society’s key interests is:-

v To stop the decline in the appearance of the former ‘Station Masters House’ building

v To bring the building into use as a local museum, arts & crafts centre.

v To safeguard the future of the whole station for rail users.

To do this funding is necessary and The Albrighton Civic Society continues with their application to The Heritage Lottery Fund & other funders to raise these funds.

Support from users and local residents is necessary & vital in order to bring the listed Station Building out of dilapidation and enhance the appearance of this area of our village.

To ensure that the arts and crafts activities of the centre will be received positively we are intending to host regular Arts & Crafts Fayres within the village and we need your help to ensure we promote our local arts & crafts men and women.

We are looking for local businesses or individuals within the arts & crafts sector, both amateur and professional.

Initially, we would like to offer exhibition space at a regular craft fayre within our village.

The Station Heritage Centre could display your wares on a permanent basis and become YOUR shop front.

An Exhibition Gallery, Museum & Craft Workshops will be integral to the Heritage Centre.

All interested parties will be welcome to attend a meeting in early May 2013 to find out more, without obligation. This date will be announced.

To be sent further details of the meeting please send your contact details, together with an overview of your arts & crafts activities, to Sarah Baker.
