3.Main Issues

a. The main item was a meeting of the Station Centre Task Group (SCTG).

RS gave an update on the status of development work on the bid to HLF.

Pl suggested that we include WI as a craft based organisation for the Station Heritage Centre (SHC). JB suggested that they could also sell home produce at the SHC as is done at a Newport venue.

DB suggested that musicians should be included in the arts/crafts group and that a photographer who lives in Woodland Close and comes to the Wesley Hall may be interested.

JB suggested that commercial art dealers may be interested in displaying their pictures for sale.

b. AOB

- DB advised that the Annual Parish Meeting would be on Thursday 26 April 2012.

- RK and others had proposed that the Alb PC erect an Open Shelter Meeting Point outside the Red House to celebrate the diamond jubilee – possibly a 6 sided shelter with tiled pitched roof and large old timber columns. After the meeting, the site was inspected and it seems that if the proposal was to go ahead then the appropriate location would be opposite the Rajkonna Indian restaurant and away from the clock to avoid obstructing the view of the clock which is a major feature of the corner. ADCS agreed in principle to support the proposal. DB said it would be considered by Albrighton Parish Council.

- JB recommended that the Lime trees along the High Street should be replaced at say 2 No. per year by London Plane trees which would be more suitable. By gradually replacing them, a few at a time, we would not be left with a tree-less street.
