Minutes of Meeting of 12 March were approved
3b) Village
Entrance Scheme JB reported that 1000 daffodil bulbs have been ordered, and a donation of manure
given by Mr Pemberton. MP had applied this to the rose bushes donated by David Austin Roses at the end of Patshull Road . Wyevale Garden Centre had also donated 20 bags of mulch which had been applied
to the rose beds. The primroses raised and given by PL are blooming. He offered a further supply
in due course. (On 3 April, Michael Marriot reported that roses had now been planted at the
A464 end of Bowling Green Lane. PBW reported that he had sent letters
of thanks to Michael Marriott of David Austin and Darren Hancocks of
Wyevale – also one to Brian Pemberton who had donated manure which had
been dug into the beds. Action JB, PL
3c) Schools
Award No response has been received from Idsall, however, Birchfield School has completed
their project already. JB has contacted all three remaining schools by
telephone and email.
3d) Planning
Issues Various issues were discussed with a view to raising them with Chris Edwards
on his proposed visit in July, and possibly to be included in the Society
response to the SamDev consultation. These included: widening Bowling
Green Lane from the A464 to the island on Elm Road for safety (David
Austin visitors) reasons, and to encourage his visitors to carry on into
the village; the long term provision of a south – north bypass; car parking
including the exchange of land near the station, and possible exclusion
of Grade 1 agricultural land from any future development.
An
agenda for the visit of Chris Edwards is to be prepared for the May meeting Action PW/RS

sub-committee will draft a response to the SamDev documents - PW, PL, DB. HH, RK, RS
3e) ADCS
scheme for planters//tubs in the village centre. PW reported on having obtained estimates for planters, of which either re-constituted
stone or glass reinforced concrete were preferred. An application had
been submitted to the LJC for £1500 towards their cost. Action PW/MP/RK.
3f) Hanging
Basket Competition MP has arranged for a leaflet to be produced and circulated in time for the Red
House Flower Show on 7 July . Action MP/MW
3g) Albrighton
Fayre Doubt remains as to the location of ADCS stand at the Fayre. PW agreed to attend
a meeting of the organisers to allocate spaces. Action PW
3h) Brewood CS The
visit is now likely to take place on 9 July at 6pm. Ernie Howells has agreed
to conduct a tour of appropriate places: PL agreed to liaise with him in
this respect. Action PL
3i) Lee
Hall Cottage PW reported that the sale had fallen through, and he understood that it would
be sold by auction in the near future. Contact with SC is being maintained. Action PW
4 AOB
a) Meeson
House . Concern was expressed at the continuing dilapidation of this prominent property. It was agreed to write to the Agent expressing ADCS concern. Action PW
b) Rumbles
Shop. Although the unsightly banners have been drawn to the attention of the Enforcement
Officer, no response had been forthcoming. It was agreed to approach
Matthew Knight, the SC Conservation Officer . Action PW
c) Website. PW
reported renewal of the fee for two years at a cost of £8.28
