Albrighton Station

Campaign to retain the pedestrian access ramp to platform 1

we won the first battle.....

Express & Star Press Release...Click Here

Local people got Network Rail to finally agree to postpone the demolition for 5 months and for the ramp to be sealed off & preserved while discussions take place.

We now need to use this time to meet with Network Rail, London Midland (which operates the Station) and Orange Mobile Phone Company (which now owns the land the ramp is on) to find a way to retain the ramp permanently.

It will be necessary for Shropshire Council to agree to carry out road safety works on Station Road in order to proceed.

Thanks go to many people who actively supported our campaign including Mark Pritchard MP, Cllr Malcolm Pate, Cllr David Beechey, Shropshire Star and Express & Star and many local residents.

...yes a battle won, but we need to keep at it to win the war and retain the ramp
